Echo Park & October Afternoon Layout Kits for the Boys~

Are you ready for some Baseball?  Now that it is warm out, I see the boys in my neighborhood riding bikes, skateboards, and of course playing some ball.   I have 2 little girls so I am typically scrapping layouts of girly things.  So I was excited to get some new photos from my friends who have boys.

Here are two of my latest layouts that will be kitted and sold only at Hannah's.  Stop in and pick up your kit or call to reserve your kit.  The baseball layout is using the New Echo Park This & That.  I also used the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Stitching tools and stitched a design around the page.  Super easy to do and just adds a tiny bit of detail to any layout.  Notice the 4 pennants on the page? Those are homemade.. just use the This & That paper that you will get in your kit.   I have had a request for some layouts with more than a couple of photos on a page.. here you go.. I used 12 photos.

Here is another new layout you can find at Hannah's.  I used the October Afternoon paper.
Don't worry if you have girls Hannah's has tons of layouts for boy or girl layouts.  They also have mini albums, card kits, and altered projects.   Thanks for looking at my new layouts, stop by Hannah's Face book page and let us know what kind of kits you are looking for.  Scrap It Girl!~

Meet Kimberly Part 4 & A New Class

Yesterday I showed you the signs that I like to alter from Hannah's.  But have you checked out the wood blocks they sell?  The best thing about these blocks is that they are solid.  So far I have only been decorating them one at a time, I hope to find time to do something with 3 or 4 blocks.  I would love to make a set to keep out all year long or make a set for a gift.

This is my "Jenni on the Block".    I used Jenni Bowlin's Victoria Mini Papers to cover the block.

Do you want your own "Jenni on the Block".... join us for our class~
  •  "Jenni on the Block" class @ Hannah's
  • Sunday March 4th   10:00-12:30
  •  $30.00 cost of class
  • Supplies needed: Scissors, Pictures,  & Glossy Accents
  • RSVP needed by March 2nd
  • one other color combo may be available

You can either stop in the store to sign up or you can RSVP through Scrap It Girl.  If you want to see more versions of the blocks decorated scroll down to the beginning of the week, I posted a few other photos.

I hope to see you in class~  Kimberly

Meet Kimberly Part 3 & A Giveaway~

Hello Wednesday!  Are you ready for a giveaway?   Today’s giveaway will be for  a wooden, double-sided sign.  Yep, a sign~ I saw these signs at Hannah's and couldn't wait to decorate a few.  You can alter it anyway you want.  Here is an example of one I just did this week.  One side is painted in chalk board paint, so I can use it for a list or a quick note.  The other side is more of a decoration, but I did add 2 clothes pin clips and some sticky notes.    There is also a frame so I can add a picture.  I love the chair paper from October Afternoon so I put a limit on my decorations.
Products I used October Afternoon paper: Sunday Dinner, Church Social, & Guest Room, yellow acrylic paint, chalkboard paint, Craft wood letters EAT, Tim Holtz button, clock, spinner, knob & distress ink, black frame from home decor department @ Hannah’s, 2 clothes pins, a few clear buttons, chipboard house, May Arts trim, K & Co smash tape, Chalk, Maya Road heart, Rosette Die, and bakers twine.

Here are a few examples of other signs I made as part of the Design Team for Hannah's.

I love the variety of things Hannah's has that we can alter.     They have one long wall full of wood and paper mache items    The signs are one of my favorites.  They are fun to decorate for a kids room, seasonal decoration, chalk boards, or a kids photo college.   I bet you have an idea of what you would do with your sign.  Here is your chance to win one double sided wood sign.  Leave a comment on this post letting us know how you would decorate your sign, you also need to follow this blog.  We will draw a winner on Friday.

Meet Kimberly Congdon part 2

While I was at CHA a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing the wonderful Dress form display that was in the Ranger/Tim Holtz booth.  Tim had given many of his designer friends a form to alter, any way they wanted, using anything.  I loved it!

Using that great idea, the design team at Hannah's will be altering the forms that Hannah's sells in their store.  We have the white paper mache forms, that are so easy to decorate.  Each of the design team members will show you there version as they complete them in a few weeks.

What does my dress form say about me?   Well I originally painted the whole thing pink… which is something I should stop doing…lol Then as you can see most of the pink is covered up with the skirt, shirt, and apron. I love polka dots so I used the K & Co tape from their smash books and made the shirt. I used pink paislee fabric ribbons for my skirt. I didn’t want to change the color of the skirt since I liked the creams. I used Prima bling along the base & a few Maya road butterflies. The flying 2 butterflies are from Jenni Bowlin. The canvas hearts are from Canvas Corp, I sewed them together to form the wings. For the bottom of the form I used a large art part from Wendy Vecchi and painted it blue and decorated it with liquid pearls. I made the apron for my dress form since I wear aprons to work, I actually sewed on all of those charms and sewed the seam binding on so it can easily be taken on and off. I added items to my apron that I like: lipstick, hearts, keys, #2, vintage buttons, clocks, scissors, and a diamond ring~ I couldn’t find my mini Starbucks cup, if I do I saved room to add it later. The pink trim tulle apron was made from Teresa Collins posh trims.   I finally made something that was not covered in Tim Holtz products, just one # and one button.  Did I mention I was sick all weekend long and I made this while laying on the couch?  I will be back tomorrow with a giveaway~

Monday Must Have & Meet Debbie Ward...

Meet Debbie Ward…

Wife, mom, culinary student, small business owner and design team member.  These are just a few of the hats I wear.  I am currently a design team member for Hannah’s Scrapbook Department.  Paper crafting has been an incredibly satisfying hobby for me, I have been playing with paper & ink for many years.  I became smitten with paper crafting when I went to a Stampin’ Up home party.  After that, I started taking scrapbook classes and going to expos/tradeshows and reading any scrapbook magazine I could get my hands on.  I find I take my inspiration these days from the design team members at Papertrey Ink.  I love how that company has grown over the years and the amazing projects their team come up with every month.

My paper crafting hobby has taken me places I never thought I would go; I sell cards online, write short articles for paper crafting websites and meet others who share my passion for paper crafting.  All in all it has been a great ride and can’t wait to see what will surface on the horizon.  My blog can be found at www.LuckyGirlPaperArts.com.

Favorite companies:  Papertrey Ink, Echo Park, Basic Grey, Tattered Angels & Authentique

Favorite tools:  Cuttlebug, dies, embossing folders, Pink ATG 700, border punches

My “Go To” technique:  Doilies sprayed with Glimmer Mist

Monday Must Have...Since I adore glimmer mist, Hannah's is offering 25% off Tattered Angels products.  You must either print out this post and bring it with you when you come shopping.  This coupon is good for this week only.

Meet Laura Cox.....

Hi there!!! Laura Cox here.....and I'm going to tell y'all a little
bit about myself....yep, like it or not....lol.

I started on Hannah's DT just last year, and it's been so much
fun to create and teach classes at this awesome store!!

My crafting quest started when I was a young gal (oh those
were the days....lol)....I dabbled in painting, drawing, jewelry,
knitting, cross stitch, soap and paper making, carving,
you name it....lol....but I found my true hobby obsession
in paper crafting, at a Creative Memories show some 18
years ago! Over time, I kinda "lost touch" with that.....
yep, kids and life will do that to ya....but when I saw a
sweet neighbor taken by cancer....that all changed. I decided
life is too short to wait around to pursue what you love. And
so....I decided to "get crafty" every day. Yep...that load of wash
or those dust bunnies can wait for an hour or two.....lol.

Yep...for me, that's what my blog (you can find HERE) and
designing and teaching at Hannah's is all about....sharing with
and inspiring others in this wonderful hobby of paper crafting!

And my favorite crafty goodness....cards and altered projects,
and LOVE to use inks of any kind, but especially LOVE all
things Echo Park!!! Their collections are amazing! My new
fave for projects of any type. Make sure to check back all
this week....because I'll be featuring some great Valentine and
Scrappin' projects with EP!!

Check back soon, and check out Hannah's soon....lots of NEW
goodies and classes all the time!

So, mark your calendars ladies & gentlemen, because our next sale is scheduled for Friday, March 23rd & Saturday, March 24th from 10am-3pm...it will be here before we know it! We still have a few tables available to rent out, so if you have great stuff taking up your valuable space, give us a call or contact me directly at cherieryan@comcast.net for more details.

Introducing Cherie Ryan

Hello!
My name is Cherie Ryan. I started working at Hannah's in the make a memory department as a sales associate, as well as a class instructor, in 2006.  Being creative has always been a way of life for me, and I love helping others discover their talents, so the job fits me perfectly!

I was first introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking 15 years ago by two very determined friends...and so my journey began!  At first, I dabbled with scrapbooking itself, but only to find that my true passion would be found in stamping and cardmaking.  Over the years, I have established an incredible collection of stamps...more than I can count!  My favorites include anything related to the northwoods, as well as butterflies, cherries and snowmen.

This past year, I began a new chapter. I fell in love with mini chipboard albums!  There is truly no better way to merge the passion I have with cardmaking and scrapbooking and best of all, they make great gifts to give from the heart!  I recently make this book for my friend, Niomi of her adorable boys...she loved it!!

I also love creating my own Christmas ornaments, drawing houses and landscapes (with ink), painting with acrylics on canvas and participating in craft shows.

Some more tidbits about me...
*My creative style: depends on the day!
*My favorite scrapbook companies: Authentique, Graphic 45 & Crate Papers
*My favorite color: yellow
*My favorite stamp companies: Stampscapes, Northwoods, Hero Arts & Penny Black
*What I love most about myself: my honesty, creativity, playful personality and my Armenian/Irish heritage
*The most precious thing in life: my faith, family and friends

Nice to meet you all!!
